LONG NIGHT
OF APPLICATION

1. Preparation of Your Documents/CV

Prepare your application materials to be clear and visually appealing. For the application, you only need your resume. It should be up-to-date and engaging. HERE, we’ve provided some inspiration for you online.

2. Registration on Our Website

Reflect on who you are and where you want to go—this will greatly simplify the selection of suitable companies. You can check additional information and facts on our company pages.

3. Acceptance/Rejection

Have you received an acceptance? Great! Look forward to a day full of opportunities and inspiration. Get plenty of rest, prepare your documents (resumes, certificates, references—anything you believe will help you shine in the interview) a few days in advance, and bring along a big dose of motivation and enthusiasm!

4. Preparation Time

Prepare well for your interviews with our preparation materials. The first two minutes are particularly important: this is when you start with your pitch. Therefore, practice it thoroughly and tailor it individually for each company.

What is important BEFORE the event?

An up-to-date resume is a must! Make sure your CV is current, visually appealing, and well-structured. If you include a photo, it should be as professional as possible. It’s best to save your resume as a PDF file.

Research the companies participating in the LNOA in advance. Pay attention not only to companies you know and those close to you, but also be open to as many companies and applications as possible.

To receive an invitation to the event, you must register online in advance. Ensure that your registration is complete and coherent. In case of multiple registrations, only the most recent one will be considered.

Have you received an invitation? Great! Then it’s time to create your individual pitches to start the interviews. As part of your preparation, you will receive the digital handbook “How To Pitch” with valuable tips. Be well prepared for every interview!

All communication about the event will be conducted via email. This means you must keep a close eye on your inbox and read all our emails and information thoroughly. Remember: Good preparation is half the battle!

Plan ahead which questions you want to ask during your individual career training sessions with our co-trainers. We always have coaches available, so take advantage of the opportunity to gather different perspectives.

We are not against ChatGPT & Co: However, please note that AI-generated texts can be quickly identified (especially by experienced recruiters). Therefore, we recommend modifying and personalizing your text!

What is important AT THE event?

Approach everyone you meet at the LNOA with an open mind! Whether it’s during the presentations, breaks, future dates, coaching sessions, or additional conversations, take advantage of the diverse opinions and perspectives.

Show yourself in the best light! Always be polite and wear appropriate attire. The most important accessory: a smile. Also, choose suitable clothing (light business attire, no off-shoulder styles, etc.). The first impression counts!

The LNOA is a challenge for all, as you won’t just be passively entertained. It’s important to us that you enjoy yourself and make the most of the day with us! If you have any questions, we’re always here for you, just go ahead and ask!

Learn and grow! Doria and her team of trainers will be available throughout the day, so feel free to ask as many questions as you need to get closer to your goal. No questions? That’s not an option!

Note the name and contact details of the recruiter you meet with. This way, you’ll have a specific contact person for any follow-up questions. We do not provide the companies’ (recruiters’) contact information.

An event provides you with the opportunity to meet new people and exchange experiences. Don’t underestimate the value of input from others when it comes to your career. Therefore, seize the opportunity!

Punctuality

Punctuality in job interviews is crucial as it leaves a first, often lasting, personal and professional impression. It signals that applicants take their commitment to the position and the company seriously. Additionally, punctuality shows respect for others’ schedules, which is an important social skill. Being late could raise doubts about your reliability and sense of responsibility, negatively impacting the assessment of your suitability for the role.

Authenticity

Honesty and authenticity are the foundation of a long-term professional relationship. By staying true to yourself, you can convey a clear picture of your skills, personality, and values. Ultimately, authenticity also fosters trust between applicants and employers, which supports the success of the employment relationship in the long run.

Willingness

It’s important to emphasize that participation in the Long Night of Application is only recommended for those who are genuinely interested and willing to embrace new experiences. The atmosphere and purpose of the event are best realized when everyone participates actively and is engaged. Only by being open to new contacts, ideas, and perspectives can you fully utilize and benefit from the event. Ultimately, it is crucial that you participate out of your own motivation to make the most of the event for yourself.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: Don’t give up right away! Even if an interview doesn’t go as hoped, it’s crucial to persevere and keep going. Every interview is a training opportunity and offers a chance to improve your rhetorical skills.
