Today kicks off Doria’s 4-part video mini-series MON€Y MON€Y 🤑 – and it’s all about salary and becoming a true negotiation pro. In Part 1, you’ll learn how to determine your desired salary.
Salary negotiation is a crucial point in a job interview, as it decides the number on your paycheck. Therefore, you should already have a clear idea of the minimum and maximum of your salary range in advance. 🤔
First, you need to be clear about your monthly expenses. What is the minimum salary that allows you to live comfortably? Additional activities, vacations, car, education, or fulfilling other dreams will help you set your maximum.
The goal of your negotiation is to land within your salary range. Of course, your counterpart will try to push you towards the minimum, so it’s important to set your minimum salary at a level that still represents a gain for you.
If your counterpart offers you an amount you’re not happy with, you need to evaluate carefully, as you shouldn’t sell yourself short.
