Why are we allowed to become anything as children and then lose that freedom later in life? And where do all the Hermann Maiers, Sebastian Vettels, Christina Stürmers, and Lena Hoscheks come from? If we don’t let our children become skiers, race car drivers, singers, designers, etc., because “nothing will come of it,” how do they still emerge? It’s because they followed their path without being deterred. We call that stubbornness or they had favorable circumstances, their clan, their family supporting them.

Please, start wanting something again. Look far beyond the ordinary. Be unrealistic and audacious.

Draw on your past, your hobbies, your deepest longings, and boldest dreams. Wanting is often tied to wishes, dreams, and ideals. What we yearn for, we pursue. When we really want something, we find ways; if not, we find excuses.

Dreams motivate us to reach great heights, providing us with drive and energy. I’ll share one of my favorite pastimes with you. I call it “daydreaming and building castles in the air.” All stress falls away, surrounded by a lightness and pure joy of life. And eventually, one of those castles in the air becomes reality, like my books or the Long Night of Applications.

START DREAMING!

  • What would you like to change in this world?
  • What did you want to be as a child and why?
  • What did you enjoy doing most as a child?
  • What have you always wanted to do?
